Carsten Bönnemann, MD

Carsten is a neuromuscular physician and senior investigator and chief of the neuromuscular and neurogenetic disorders of childhood section of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). His work aims to identify the genetic and cellular mechanisms of early onset muscle diseases, such as the congenital muscular dystrophies, congenital myopathies, and reducing body myopathy.
